The electronic nature of this business makes it even more important for the business to have strong privacy and security controls. e-businesses may be business-to-business (B2B), business to customer (B2C) or a combination. They may be exclusively Internet companies, such as Amazon.com, eBay or Orbitz, or they may be regular physical facility businesses that have expanded to offer their products Online, such as Apple, Wal-Mart and hundreds of other businesses. Amazon.com was initially a substitution for a book store and subsequently became a catalog substitute because it now offers such a diverse range of products. Besides these there are reference and content models, such as e-library, and numerous game businesses. There are also portal businesses, like Yahoo! and AOL. There are three major processes in e-business: production processes that include ordering, procurement, processing payments received, production control processes, and links with suppliers; customer-focused processes that include marketing campaigns, advertising, selling over the Internet, processing orders and payments, and customer support; and internal management processes that include human resource activities like training, sharing information internally, and even video conferencing (Rai Foundation Colleges, 2008). e-businesses have the same responsibilities as other businesses, the major difference is that they conduct their business via computers and the Internet. Hedlund (2008) explains that an e-business must be involved in the same type of strategic planning as any other business. That includes having a mission, objective and policies and steps to achieve the objectives (Hedlund, 2008). The business model and operational model of an e-business is the qualities the Internet offers (Hedlund, 2008).
