on the eve of December 31, 1999, everyone from top executives to computer nerds will have their fingers crossed that their ATM cards will work the next morning. The reason
for the sudden paranoia about the new millennium has nothing to do with religious prophesy. Rather it has to do with the fact that when the world had been computerized
during the twentieth century, no one took seriously the prospect that computers would take everyone into the next century. Either that, or they forgot that the use of two digits
is not adequate to express years past 1999. People are seeing the effects even now as their credit cards are sometimes rejected if they expire in the two-digit world of
"00." This issue affects everyone, from business executives to housewives. It is further one of international proportions. III. Review of Relevant Literature In order to gain proper
insight into how the Year 2000 problem will affect businesses, articles from Tech Europe and Industry Week have been selected. The first one primarily addresses problems that the year 2000
will cause for computers while the latter article discusses ways in which to deal with the effects of problems caused by the transition. Thus, the latter piece notes ways in
