process goals inherent to resolving this situation, it is important to understand how that while conflict is typically viewed as a negative aspect of the workplace, it also presents the
opportunity to address issues that might otherwise go unnoticed or ignored. Discord among human beings is a normal, daily event at all stages of life; however, it is the
manner in which such antagonism is addressed that determines how effective the outcome will ultimately be. While the workplace utilizes a number of psychological techniques as a means by
which to address discord between and among people, the Rogerian counseling format has not only proven less likely to exacerbate the problem, but it also teaches those in turmoil a
very basic method of communication. Rogerian counseling seeks to obtain the most amicable type of communication between the feuding parties, attempting to draw
likenesses rather than differences. By focusing upon the positive, the information source of Rogerian counseling starts at square one chipping away at the defense mechanism typically associated with the
receiving end, seeking to capitalize upon common ground rather than differences. Effective business communication is an essential component in todays commerce; without it,
