who are injured on the job. Workers Comp is a protective provision not only for the worker, however, but also for the employer. Although the employee incurs certain
expenses in the form of insurance cost, they are protected from long and costly lawsuits that might result from worker injury. In return for prompt treatment and workers compensation
benefits, workers agree not to sue. Workmans Compensation, therefore, is a balance between the workers and the employers interest. As might
be expected, the specifics of workers compensation law varies somewhat according to state. In Georgia, workers compensation falls under Georgia Statute 34-9. The Statute distinguishes between an
injury incurred on the job and a disease except where such disease is the natural and unavoidable result of the accident. The Georgia Statute regarding workers compensation extends as
well to cases where a preexisting condition is aggravated as a result of: "the course
of employment, but only for so long as the aggravation of the preexisting condition continues to be the cause of the disability
