Essay / Research Paper Abstract
3 pages in length. While learning is an essential element in a person's overall quality of life, the manner by which teaching is approached is a critical component in the ability to obtain said education. Some students are perfectly at ease with learning in a group atmosphere; others are much more effective when working alone. Still others require a great deal of hands-on interaction while some can glean all the knowledge they need straight from the textbook. With these and so many other varied approaches to learning, it stands to reason how no single way can be considered appropriate for any given student collective. Workspaces serve as a springboard for creating an atmosphere whereby students, parents and teachers can come together in a location that removes them from the standard classroom environment and provides a more suitable setting for working on projects and other tasks. Bibliography lists 3 sources.

a location that removes them from the standard classroom environment and provides a more suitable setting for working on projects and other tasks. As Abramson (2004) duly notes:
"Too many architects, school boards, administrators and, unfortunately, state departments of education are stuck in a time warp of schools built 20 to 30 years ago and design, accept or
mandate smaller spaces than a modern school program needs. Building minimum spaces will cramp your educational program and deny opportunities to your students for decades to come" (Abramson, 2004,
p. 42). Inasmuch as "adjustments based on learning profile encourage students to understand their own learning preferences" (Tomlinson, 1995), utilizing workspaces helps to focus more closely upon the sometimes
subtle requirements students have where learning is concerned. Computers represent one of the greatest associations with workspaces in todays technologically advanced classrooms; that myriad schools are fortunate enough to
have a computer for each student illustrates the extent to which workspaces are beneficial for working on projects and other educational tasks. Some of the reasons why this approach
is a positive move toward stronger learning include: * Access seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day * The ability to engage in both curricular and extra-curricular activities
