in part due to greater entrepreneurship and telecommuting. Executives spend days traveling and their evenings are filled with company paid entertainment. Entrepreneurs and sales personnel are seemingly "on call" all
of the time, waiting for a good deal to come through. People who telecommute have a hard time separating personal and business life. Yet, when it comes to work life,
relationships often take center stage, despite the fact that people want to think of their home life as aligned with human issues and work life with other things. Communication and
relationship issues present themselves at the workplace much like they do in personal life. For example, someone has a fight with his or her mother, but they just as well
may have been fighting with a boss and feelings are very similar on either front. How might one ameliorate work problems related to relationships? Some believe that having a personal
philosophy can help and to that end, Aristotle is as good as any philosopher to examine. II. The Aristotelian View When examining ethical theory and philosophies of
hope, happiness is often at the forefront. It seems that the goal of most people is to be happy. Aristotles conception of happiness is not simply tied to the feeling
of bliss or well-being. People can for example-using contemporary examples-indulge in drugs and alcohol and feel good, but one would not say that they are happy. That kind of "happiness"
