It seems that anything that does not have to do with keeping children and a household has always been the domain of men. Even chefs are primarily men because it
is not cooking from necessity, cooking for a family and a household, but cooking as a career. Such realities indicate that women have not been easily accepted into the world
of men, the outside world and the world of cultural arts. The following paper examines how women have greatly contributed to the state or position of women as seen in
the field of the arts. Women and their Contributions In looking at the history of women as it involves the world of art it appears that women have
generally been better accepted by society in the realm of literature and poetry than in other fields of art. For example, architecture, a manly endeavor it would seem, and painting
are not fields that have generally accepted women. Women have also been far more accepted into theater and singing than in other artistic fields. Because women are generally more accepted
in acting and singing they are women who are generally not considered as famous or as influential as women writers or architects as these are women who open doors for
others. For example, we look at the work of Maya Lin and see that her presence in the world of architecture caused quite a stir because, not only was
she a woman, but Asian as well. This brings to mind the fact that it appears as though women of different cultures, women not white, appear to have a better
chance at being successful perhaps, at least in modern times. This is perhaps due to the fact that they inherently struggle harder than white women to be accepted and to
