the change that puts women in more control than they had perhaps ever had in the Western culture. In many ways it seems as though there is a transition going
on wherein women are finding more power and men are attempting to find their own way, a new way, which will bring men and women to a more balanced position
in society. The following paper examines women in todays society, while also discussing and comparing them to men and the position of men in the nation today. The paper is
divided into three sections: women and men in todays society, women and men in the media, and women and men in the workplace. Women and Men in Todays
Society First and foremost, it seems obvious that human beings like to be able to categorize things, and people, so that they can
better understand and comprehend them. As such people generally assume that men are one way and women are another way, although there are many deviances from gender and from age
groups and from culture which would clearly alter who or what women and men were/are. One author notes elements of this belief
system and states, "When we divide the world into two groups, male and female, we tend to see all males as being similar, all females as being similar, and the
