Justes" by Camus. These are stories which aggressively detail the lives of men in regards to social, political, and spiritual journeys. They are stories which present us with men who
are at some turning point in their lives where they must make some decisions. In short, they are stories which do not necessarily have predominant female characters. They are, however,
stories which subtly present us with the authors opinions of women in the presentation of female characters. Bearing this in mind the following paper discusses the role of women in
the two stories. The paper then presents a discussion and summary of the findings or speculations. Les Mains Sales This is a story that powerfully describes the position
of one man as he examines his life and his order to assassinate one he admires. Hugo is one man who is considered to be a strong bourgeois idealist. He
stands firmly behind his country and his position. But, in order to prove his worth to fellow comrades in the Communist party he must assassinate Hoederer. Hoederer is a admirable
Communist leader whom Hugo likes and respects for his political ideas. Hugo is incredibly confused and has a very hard time deciding what to do. He must examine his soul
and his person in order to find a way to remedy what will take place. Hugo hesitates a great deal but eventually goes through with the assassination, interestingly enough, for
