this we rarely stop to consider how women may well play a very important role in the nations identity. The following paper examines various aspects of women as they relate
to nationalism. Women and Nationalist Aspirations Many people may wonder if women are even important for a state that wishes to pursue its nationalist aspirations. We may wonder of
women are necessary to help protect national ideals, values, and traditions. The answer to that is clearly yes, for without women there would be many values, traditions, and ideals that
were not even present in a nation. One can clearly argue that many women carry traditions and values and ideals that are particular to women because they are mothers and
bear the next generation of the nation. They keep families together far more than men, and if a nation has any ideals or values or traditions concerning family, or if
family plays a large part in a nations plans, then women are surely a very large, if often ignored, part of that nations identity. In addition, regardless if we
are feminists or not, the truth is that men and women think differently. They possess different types of ideas and visions and actually work well together in keeping a balance
established within the race of man. This also applies to any government system, especially one where women are allowed to take an active part. In countries that do not allow
women to take an active part in the nations identity and ideals, the women are still powerfully influential for the men are focused, in many ways, on keeping women out.
