as this is linked with just about every aspect of contemporary life; women are ill-equipped to deal with the daily demands that have escalated over the past century, with the
population as a whole being forced to assume more and more responsibility in an already overloaded society. The body is quick to negatively manifest the overwhelming pressures of life
in the form of disease - which, as Dobson (1997) notes, is "essentially a reaction between individuals and the stresses and adverse factors of their physical, biological and social milieu,
and how we respond is governed by genetic make-up" (pp. 44-45). Postpartum-related depression is one manifestation of depression in women only recently being looked at more closely and with
