uses emerging since the mid 1990s. Wireless networks can be seen in school and university, in shops and offices used by the police and other emergency services and is also
the basis for GIS technology. The application where wireless networking can be found are based on the advantages. Many smaller business or
business in older building where installation of wires would be problematic use wireless networking as a cost effective way of overcoming many of the barriers to wired networking. For this
reason we can see the increased use of wireless networking in the home, where the installations of wires may be rejected by householders.
Wireless networks also increase the mobility of the user, as such wireless networks can be found where there is the need for mobility. The use of wireless networks can
be seen with many of the emergency services. This requires the need for mobility. In the earlier days the networks were voice
orientated. However, today the networks are far more complex, with the use of satellite navigation systems and data being transmitted to help the services avoid traffic and find where they
are going. For the emergency services and for commercial application there are also workless networks used where the ability to recover from a disaster is important. One of the major
advantages is also that unlike a wired network if there is a disaster then there can be immediate disaster recovery and the inconvenience and costs associated with that are also
