Paper Store, Inc. by P. Giltman 9/2010 Please Born in 1922, William Zinsser is a writer and educator where
he taught at Yale University during much of the 1970s. Much of his work is based on reading, writing, and everyday student life. His most notable work is called On
Writing Well in which he preaches a simplified writing style and teaches people to write strongly and clearly. He also shows them how to remove the clutter from their respective
works to make their writing more coherent and succinct. In one of his essays called "College Pressures," Zinsser depicts the life of a college student and the anxiety and fears
that go along with it. Zinsser opens the article with scribbled notes from students to college professors about how they have fallen behind on their studies, how they are
not prepared for tomorrows exam and if there are any excuses that can get them out of upcoming term papers. The reader initially believes these are unprepared college students only
to learn that these are real notes that Yale students submitted to their professors. In these notes, Zinsser can feel the authentic voices of a generation that is panicky to
succeed (Zinsser, 1978). However, Zinsser tries to teach them that they have time to figure out what it is that they want to do and there will be plenty of
time in life to make mistakes and change career paths at least several times. These students, however, want everything mapped out here and now and it is hard for them
