ancestry; it has also been said that he was hated as by all "Hun-haters" and higher-minded peace-lovers due to the evil he would eventually inspire in World War I (Marty
743). Rarely was his reputation positive, although there have been stories about an innate kindness. Annan reports that he was considered the most detestable monarch in Europe and his
evil included the poor treatment of his own mother and his involvement in homosexual activities (20). Other reported acts bordering on the insane (20). In studying this monarch, one thing
is clear. Reports vary and as will be shown, his mother did not seem to have much of an affection for him anyway. Overall, his critics have focused on his
destruction as he led the world into The Great War, also known as World War I. He attended the University of Bonn and then entered the army
(Columbia PG). In 1881, he married a princess by the name of Augusta Victoria of Schleswig-Holstein (PG). He was a healthy man, for the most part. However, he had one
