Songs of Experience is The Garden of Love. The following paper presents an analysis of the poem along with a discussion of his life. William Blakes The Garden
of Love William Blake was born in London in 1757, the son of "a successful London hosier who encouraged Blakes artistic talents. Blake
was first educated at home, chiefly by his mother" (The Literature Network). Apparently he began having visions at a very early age, claiming he saw images such as ghostly monks
and angels (The Literature Network). Not only did he see these images but he claimed to speak with them as well, even such figures as the Virgin Mary and the
angel Gabriel (The Literature Network). As can be assumed, he was considered a unique child and in his teenage years he became
an apprentice for an engraver (The Literature Network). In his early years it is also recorded that "Gothic art and architecture influenced him deeply" (The Literature Network). And, because of
his unique nature he was, during his lifetime, "generally dismissed as an eccentric during his lifetime" although "posterity rediscovered Blake and today he is highly rated both as a poet
and artist" (The Literature Network). As noted in the introduction, his most famous works are the Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience. Songs of Innocence were written/published in
