money. The Soviet Union had been treading water. Of course, in reality, communism did not work there because there had been no solid base to begin with. That is, the
Soviet Union did not bother to go through the steps of creating a lucrative state before embarking on the new venture. Rather, the revolutionaries thought they were executing something intended
by Karl Marx, but the truth is that the model the Russians set up was nothing like Marx intended. In the end, Russia failed and people claim that communism did.
Of course, there are very few nations left under communist rule. Today, Communist China is one of the most significant examples of a communist state. Yet, China has implemented capitalism,
at least to an extent, and is doing well with its new capitalist tools. China is however still a communist state. Yet, it dabbles in capitalism, thus ignoring the socialist
or communist ideal that is supposed to create a haven for the people and a society that is fair. Many questions crop up as it respects the communist model. In
evaluating what went wrong, and why it failed, what is revealed is the fact that there were mistakes along the way. Marx did not dictate some of the things that
manifest as a result of unscrupulous and greedy dictators. In evaluating the situation, a focus on Russia is prudent. Yet, it is important to note other examples as well, as
