This is perhaps very true, but does not lessen the fact that there are some very powerful as well as historical moments in the film. With that in mind the
following paper argues that, for those who think "Titanic" is a waste of time because of the romance, it is also a film that speaks of the tragedy and the
reality that was the Titanic, a film that discusses human dignity and failure, thus giving the viewer a powerful film. Titanic It should perhaps first be noted that
this argument that follows is aimed at people who may not wish to see the film because it is romantic and not historical. This paper does not address the people
who want a romantic movie, a fictional story, or those who may not want to see the film because of graphic content. One of the most intriguing aspects of
the film is that which involves the wreckage diving of the Titanic. In our present day we know that the Titanic has been filmed under the sea in its present
state. The fact that the beginning and the end of the story discuss this and use it as a foundation for the story offers the viewer an intriguing perspective. As
one critic notes, "Bookended by a present-day story of salvage scavengers searching the Titanics wreckage for a priceless diamond necklace (the movies only cheap effect -- it looks plastic), Titanic
