In his youth, his hobbies were reading as well as activities pertinent to the outdoors3. He attend school, and then would go on to law school. Throughout the years, he had a personal life as well. He would marry a woman named Martha in 17724. He was appointed to the Continental Congress, both times in 1775 and 1776, and there he would write the Declaration of Independence5. In 1786, he helped to author a bill promoting religious freedom6. He served as the minister to France as well7. Thomas Jeffersons biography reads like a hodge podge of significant events, but truly, Jeffersons life, his legacy and his service to country can be sewn together to tell a significant tale. Thomas Jefferson is the nations greatest president because he possesses good character and integrity as well as his leadership. Many agree. President Clinton tried to connect with this great president as he embarked on his own presidential journey8. Heinrichs even claims that today, many Democrats and Republicans make use of Jeffersons concepts but claim them as their own9. That is a sincere form of flattery. Still, no living politician is compared with Jefferson on the whole. Few can even compare with the things that he had accomplished during this lifetime.
