                                                    omnipresent. He is not sitting up in the sky necessarily, despite the fact that people perceive Him in that manner. Rather, God is all around. One has to ask, in  
                                                
                                                    a modern society, is this idea rational? Many claim that it is, but the idea that a single God exists does not seem to rely on rational thought, but on  
                                                
                                                    belief. Some say it is wishful thinking. Whatever one wants to call it, the belief does not make sense. Still, it pays to explore both sides of the issue.  
                                                
                                                    Vaiden (2007) writes: "Do I have a belief in God? Certainly. Why do I have confidence? Because this is a world most conclusively of cause and effect, and the proper  
                                                
                                                    analysis refers most positively to the great first cause. No rational mind can escape this just conclusion" (p.9). Vaiden (2007) refers to the believe that God created the world and  
                                                
                                                    that there would have to be an explanation as to why the world exists. While he makes a good point, there are alternate theories of evaluating this today, such as  
                                                
                                                    the Big Bang. That is, there may be a world that has come about, and a cause, but the cause is not necessarily that of a single God. Therefore, the  
                                                
                                                    notion that God exists because there is a cause for the world is not a good argument. 	There are other arguments for Gods existence that are somewhat more logical. George  
                                                
                                                    Berkeley for example claims that the fact that people have senses to some extent proves Gods existence and similarly Rene Descartes relays ideas about existence that demands that a superior
