will of one individual to pit themselves against another is not a new idea, many early examples exist; the ancient Olympic Games would have many athletic feats which served to
display athletic process as well as provide an arena for competition. Although not focused on racing, as wrestling also played an important role, the games allow individual athletes to compete.
It may be argued from a philosophical point of view that the desire to compete and win is linked to survival instinct, the fight or flight instinct which helps to
increase the level of adrenaline in the body of an individual is well-known, which facilitates either speed or strength depending on level the fight or flight choice is made. Invariably,
the individuals who were the fastest have advantages over slower individuals, a trait which is likely to be very important in the hunter gatherer period of human evolution.
Throughout the social evolution of history there has been a premium attached to physical fitness and success, many historical figures have been remembered as
