words are comforting, but they are certainly religious in nature. He does not have to invoke the Protestant God in order to demonstrate that he is crossing a line. Simply
speaking about God is enough. On one hand, it is argued that America is fundamentally a Christian state and while there are other people, they came later and are outnumbered.
Their argument is somewhat valid in that the United States of America began as a nation to embrace those who were religiously persecuted. Although no particular religion would be embraced
by the state, it was understood that there was a God. Most people were Christian but not all. Still, "In God We Trust" is found on the money used and
in every courtroom in America, there is a bible used. However, as time goes on, and new ways of looking at the world emerge, the Judeo-Christian God is only one
paradigm. There are others, and so, there is somewhat of an infringement on the relationship between church and state when George Bush talks about God or prays in the public
arena. The fact that George W. Bush is religious, and talks about God in his speeches is not new. His positions to an extent exemplify this idea. For example, he
