In this case, it has been said that the philosopher Plato would have responded, "for the greater good". Now, clearly Plato did not actually have this discussion about
chickens crossing roads but the idea is that according to his prevalent philosophical ideas, this is how he would have responded. Therefore, it is important to have a
basic understanding of Platos ideas and philosophies in order to better understand his outlook on the world and his persuasion in terms of answering such questions. Why Did
the Chicken Cross the Road Platos Republic is one of his works which outlines his ideas about the greater good (Analysis of
Platos Republic, 2002). In this book, Plato talks of The Form of the Good, which basically casts light over all other forms (Analysis of Platos Republic, 2002). It
is through this analogy which Plato basically interprets the world (Analysis of Platos Republic, 2002). Forms, to Plato, are essences of things (Analysis of Platos Republic, 2002).
Furthermore, according to Plato without Forms, we are limited to opinion in regards to anything, because our senses are too unreliable to give true knowledge of anything (Analysis of Platos
Republic, 2002). Therefore, according to this theory, knowledge of anything and understanding of anything comes from examination of the Forms, and only from there (Analysis of Platos Republic, 2002).
