In this case, the mention of Ross Perot is appropriate because it directly relates to the students thesis that all companies should be protected to ensure American jobs are safe
and that quality is preserved. According to a student, the steel companies are "one of the hallmarks of American industry and deserve protection through tariffs from cheaper foreign steel." Of
