health services, including on-site clinics, primary and urgent care, occupational health and safety, preventative and health maintenance programs, and pharmacy services. WHM is most commonly recognized for their development
of on-site clinics, which is the largest segment of their operational base. The on-site clinics provide for urgent care needs and direct medical services, with the goal of reducing
absenteeism and improving productivity by responding to employees health care needs (WHM, 2008). These on-site clinics provide for preventative medicine and disease management, first by assessing risk through the
Health Risk and Disease Management (HRDM) and then by responding to the medical needs of individuals with health conditions (WHM, 2008). WHM, though, has been most notably recognized for
their wellness and preventative medical services, which are designed to enhance health by providing risk assessments, ensuring a safe workplace, improving access to exercise and fitness facilities and by taking
a proactive and aggressive approach to wellness (WHM, 2008). The following is the breakdown of the central aspects of the WHM on-site clinic program: (WHM, 2008) Many
