from the reality in which most people live today in the United States. There is a sense that all of society is pointless and is spiraling into utter chaos, represented
by the title which symbolizes meaningless sounds and images in the test. The following paper analyzes and looks, philosophically, at DeLillos White Noise. White Noise by DeLillo This
particular book, written several years ago before technology was such a major part of life like it is today, looks at the life of a man and those around him.
He is a professor of Hitler studies and serves as the foundation from which the chaos and surreal world can be seen in an understandable manner. Without Jack the reader
would not find any consistent realities or any sense of plot. With Jack the story makes more sense and the reader is able to better see the philosophical nature of
the society and analyze what is going on. The people in this particular society seek to avoid realities, immersing themselves in superficial realities, proud of what they have achieved,
and escaping pain and suffering and feeling. They are constantly bombarded with information and yet they are disgruntled if they do not get more information. The information, not unlike the
information we get today, seems to argues such things as the benefits of something but the dangers of that same item. Today people hear coffee is bad for you but
then coffee is good for you. White bread causes cancer, and all carbohydrates should be avoided. Our society, like theirs, is one wherein the people are constantly bombarded with information
to a point where personal identity is lost and people all but run around like chickens with their heads cut off. They are disconnected with themselves, with each other, and
