Discussion The White Aryan Resistance is a "hate group led by Tom Metzger, an ordained minister in the pseudo-Christian Christian Identity Movement" (White Aryan resistance). Metzger is a TV repairman
who lives in Fallbrook, California; Metzger has been "a leader in organized bigotry for more than 25 years" (White Aryan resistance). He is racist, anti-Semitic and anti-immigrant, and he couples
his rants on these subjects with a "leftist-leaning revolutionary ideology known as the Third Position" (White Aryan resistance). Metzger is widely acknowledged to be the "principal mentor" to the neo-Nazi
skinheads, who appeared in the U.S. in the mid-1980s (White Aryan resistance). It was in this connection that he and his son John gained nation-wide notoriety when an Oregon jury
found against him in a case in which he had incited skinheads in Oregon to murder an Ethiopian student (White Aryan resistance). The WAR members bludgeoned Mulugeta Seraw to death;
the jury, fed up with the group and with Metzgers poisonous bigotry, awarded the plaintiff $12.5 million and used the huge award to send a message that Metzger and his
