problem. Why might revenue be declining, particularly in a major corporation? While of course internal factors will be evaluated, one cannot forget that macroeconomic factors will loom large. What are
the economic factors that might influence a firm that has declining revenue? While the economy certainly has an effect on the business world as the customer based will be
reduced, that is only true to an extent. Builder (2001) says that "even in an economy that has challenges, people spend lots of money on new homes, home improvements, and
new residential investments" (p.71). While that is true it is also true that people will evaluate what they have in the bank, and what is coming in, and decide whether
or not to make a major purchase. Rather than buying a new home for example, a couple may wait a year to see if things get better. Instead of going
to Europe, an individual may decide to visit historic landmarks in the United States of America. Clearly, there is reason to worry about macroeocnomic factors and the present economy is
rather dismal. While some may minimize this factor, that should not be the case. After all, the economy is certainly an important criteria in the evaluation of any firm. That
said, a look at a specific company, and what happened to it in terms of revenue loss will help to shed light on this problem. Revenues are declining at
