be seen as powerful writers. There are many elements to being a writer, especially a writer of non-fiction. The writer must grab hold of the reader, essentially mesmerizing or intriguing
them with their particular way of expressing themselves and the things, people, and events that transpire. Alice Munro is well know for her ability to write exceptionally well, pulling
the reader in with a simplicity and a complexity that truly describes events, people, and other elements. The following paper looks at her work "Lives of Girls and Women" and
examines what it means to be a writer, both from Munros perspective and the readers perspective. Lives of Girls and Women: Munro In first understanding something of the
story and something of Munro we offer the following critique wherein the author notes, "Through these unwitting mentors and in her own encounters with sex, birth, and death, Del explores
