than to imagine yourself a college student because the world is an open and inviting place that allows you to do things you would never have done at home, the
very things you will no longer do after college. The sense of freedom is overwhelming, along with a need to experiment before the rules descend on you again. If you
want to party, youll find one. Theyre everywhere. Theres only one hitch to all the partying, you could flunk out of college and
end up working in the coal mines back home or the local Wal-mart the rest of your life. The possibility even exists that if you party too hard, youll end
up on the streets looking for that next party. And theres just only hitch to this line of thinking. The party wont last. It never does.
So is partying the only reason people flunk out of college? Not by any means. There are many reasons that 50 percent of all college students flunk,
but partying is the main reason. Whats Really Going on at the Party Prickhart
(2009) writes that what happens to make young people associate in bars and drink, especially in college, is that the person suddenly has a lot of freedom and this is
combined with a lot of new stress. The college environment is distracting, offering the student new ideas and the freedom to pursue them. Boekeloo, Bush & Novik (2009) state that
the sense of freedom we feel makes us one of the 75 percent who drink out of peer pressure that comes with residing within dorms, which have an "ask but
