is relative to each individual. However, the irony of this lifelong search provides a better perspective on it elusiveness: One of the main sources of unhappiness in the
world, as more than one sage has pointed out, is the search for happiness...reflection has always persuaded some--not least among them the philosophers--that there are higher values in life than
happiness. This can easily be seen by asking whether any means to happiness is justified by its attainment (Grayling, 2005, p. 1761). Many people across the globe attribute
happiness to the possession of material goods; the more "things" they have to show their success in life, the better they feel about themselves and the happier they are.
However, this type of happiness is quite superficial in quality, inasmuch as the individual has based his happiness on tangible commodities rather than more valuable - and even simplistic -
aspects of life. While one mans happiness is based upon purchasing the latest electronic gadgets the moment they are released to the public, anothers is found in the minimalist
components of a fiery sunset or blooming flower. What makes these people different is not to say the electronics fan cannot be happy watching a sunset and the minimalist
does not gain some pleasure from interacting with electronic gadgetry, however, their core personalities are hardwired to appreciate things and experiences quite differently. Work and personal relationships are two important
