Supporters of this notion believe that one of the primary tasks of philosophy is to implement the discovery of the standards of conduct that would make such a society possible by way of offering critical reflection on the language and concepts that are central to our moral and political lives. Yet even though this may appear as a primary concept, it has been met with great hostility, with critics contending that dialogue apart from justice is nothing more than a veiled continuation of social domination. II. DISCUSSION Characteristic of humanitys constant quest for the concept of meaning, the journey of understanding has come to represent myriad things to myriad people, ultimately rendering any universal explanation virtually impossible. The problem with meaning as it relates to morality is attempting to successfully pinpoint a single yet comprehensive connotation to its concept; however, this cannot be achieved as long as any two individuals harbor decidedly different interpretations.1 It is important for the student to understand that there exist myriad philosophies by which people live their lives, which help maintain order and a sense of direction that otherwise would merely drift in subconscious thought.
