those choices might have a potential to affect wellness of the group. There are many things that can go wrong to present such a problem. Some things that might affect
a group in such a way is smoking, bringing in fattening desserts to share with the group, going to work with a contagious condition and engaging in activities which go
against safety policy. Other issues may include the creation of emotional turmoil that might take a toll on the group, or simply being absent a lot which necessitates that others
work overtime. Along those lines, coming in late or neglecting work responsibilities add to the burden of others, which may be equated with overwork and a reduction in wellness. Another
problem is the adjustment of a thermostat where the room temperature is either too hot or too cold for the average worker. Finally, a sedentary lifestyle is often responsible for
a sense of not being well. Hence, the proliferation of policies that are conducive to sitting can contribute to a reduction in wellness. In examining each of these problems, what
can be done to correct them? First, smoking is a significant factor in terms of wellness. There is a direct correlation between second hand smoke and disease ("Routine Screening," 2005).
Although some say that the risks have been exaggerated, experts worry about continual exposure to smoke ("Consumer Reports," 1994). Even if it did not cause cancer or lung disease,
many people do not like it and it is likely that most would agree that the smoke contributes to ill health. What can people who work in offices do about
