help a United States Senator who wants to design a new web site. It is a relevant call. Today, the Internet is not optional. According to Wallis (2000): "The Internet
is a virtual meeting place for political information and political viewpoints" (p.6). In order to provide a semblance of ideas, it is important to utilize the Internet to the fullest
extent possible. The site should be used as an information source because it is the best way to get information out in a concise but complete format. Many politicians become
victims of their own sound bites. They say something and it becomes reiterated over and over again. If the words are uncomplimentary a politician has the opportunity to correct things
by setting them straight at his or her own site. Not his campaign web site, the site for Senator Snort--who is the subject of the case-- will be important in
respect to his career in a holistic fashion. The site should be a place that his constituents and others will visit and the address of this hypothetical site is
www.senatorsnort.senate.gov. This site will clearly be linked to http://www.senate.gov/ which is a general site where one can go to access information about senators. There, each senator has a link so
that visitors can send e-mail. Also, one can go to sites and see what each of the senators are doing at any given time. In studying the subject of web
design for politicians one can get an idea of how to create a site by looking at the web pages of other senators. What have they done? What works for
