coming down. Usually, this is because the weather has an effect on plans and sometimes events are cancelled due to inclement weather. Sporting events for example may experience a rain
delay. People put on "foul weather gear" when it is raining and go out and enjoy the weather when it is not. Of course, by no means can one draw
a direct cause and effect relationship whether good weather will lead to positive experience and equated negativity and bad weather. At least, this is not a situation where certain types
of weather are always positive or negative. Much will depend upon the situation at hand. Years ago, many believed that people would commit suicide around the holidays but Durkheims suicide
claims that more people kill themselves when Spring first arrives. Hence, it is not necessarily the case that people are happy on that first warm spring day.
When it comes to work life, it seems as if cold weather is usually most problematic. Cold weather can have a negative effect on work efficiency
(Hill & Gaddy, 2003). Clearly, when someone is performing, weather makes a difference. It affects job performance particularly when people work outdoors. While indoor air, and the number of windows
available, may affect a workers mood in the context of their buildings, it is certainly the case that weather affects and influences people who work outside. Construction workers cannot get
their jobs done if a lot of rain enters the picture. Football coaches may become angry when too much rain necessitates canceling practices. When competitors are living in districts where
