With the growth of urban centers and water scarcity in mind, the reality is that agriculture is suffering as more and more water is required in the cities. This
leads to essential questions and debates regarding how to best use water resources, but no easy answers are evident. The bottom line however is that it will become essential
for compromises to be made, because certainly our agricultural resources cannot be allowed to deteriorate, or we will be facing shortages of other resources as well as a host of
other related problems. Water Scarcity and Urban Centers "Mankinds most serious challenge in the 21st century might not be war
or hunger or disease or even the collapse of civic order, a UN report says; it may be the lack of fresh water" (McCarthy, 2003). There are many regions
of the country, such as the sunbelt, and regions of the world which face real water scarcity issues. One prime example is that of California. California has several
