The goods stocked include goods that have a high turnaround, and some that the company needs to carry but are distributed only rarely. The processes within the warehouse need to
respond quickly to requests and good should usually be sent out with a 24 hour period. Examining warehouse management under Frazelles 5 dimensions model where the five dimensions are
profile, benchmarking, innovation, automation and humanize the concept of warehouse management can be discussed. The first dimension is profiling the warehouse. This
includes looking at the design of the warehouse which is recognized as an important aspect of warehouse management (Ackerman, 1999; Frazelle, 1988). Goods are received in large batched and are
placed in the warehouse according to type of goods and the profile of the turnaround, the most popular goods are placed in the areas, some of which are secure areas,
which are closest to the dispatch area and are easiest to access which is generally recognized as good practice (Petersen et al, 2005). The goods need to be placed so
that the large batches can be broken into single or multiple unit lots rather than the original bundle received. The use of systems such as a modular draw system can
be useful where goods need to be split in this fashion (Goetschalckx and Huang, 2001). A strict product rotation takes place so
