wisdom teeth. Technology has long been linked with war and the weapons necessary for war; and, because of this, people tend to equate it with war. Whether this is true
or not is debatable. War has been a part of human history from its earliest beginnings. There is scientific evidence that it is part of our animal heritage.
(Jane Goodall has observed "wars" among chimpanzees.) If we take it as given that war is a natural tendency in human beings, then it must serve a purpose. Nature is
very selective. Characteristics and traits which do not increase the survival of that species do not continue into the next generation. Therefore, war must have had a positive effect on
some of the participants to continue as such a strong tendency. Since humans have the ability to think and reason, whether or not they follow natural tendencies toward war and
aggression can become a matter of choice. Most of humanity agrees that the negatives of war far outweigh the positives; yet we, as a people, still pursue war and they

nuclear energy; and the Cold War spurred the creation of computers and microtechnology. These discoveries occurred because of a war time push in technology, but they have also had
innumerable peacetime applications which have benefited the world. Though technology has been the offshoot of war, thus far it has not been a reason for going to the war.
