into question the morality of the characters exist in the relationship between the characters, including Buds relationship with Gekko and his relationship with his father. In order to understand the
issues surrounding Buds morality, it is first important to understand the amorality of Gordon Gekko. Gekko is a person who holds little consideration for the impact of his choices
on other people. The focus of his character is based in greed and in the desire not only to make money, but also the pursuit of ways to make
money. For Gekko, the chase, the pursuit of money is almost as important as his possession of it. Everything in Gekkos characterization suggests that he does not
focus on the personal side of his choices, any more than he can determine the morality of them. Instead, he is clearly amoral--it is not that he is inherently
evil, but that he has no ability to conceptualize consideration for other. Gekkos sentiment that "if somethings worth doing, its worth doing for money" is key to his personal
character: Gekko cannot perceive of any moral way of doing things and instead relates his job, his life, and his pursuits to his desire for financial gain. Gekko is
incapable of making moral determinations. It is almost as if Gekko is inhuman in his personal and professional dealings--he is a money machine with little ability to consider the
impact of his choices, even on those individuals who he brings into his close circle. The organization itself is based in the amoral perspective of Gekko. The business itself
