very wrong in its treatment of employees. Since organizational culture refers to the traditions and practices of an organization, the two disparate sides of the company make it an enigma.
It is nearly impossible to gain a clear sense of this companys corporate culture. Organizational culture is described as the sum total of how people behave in their company; it
includes all the unwritten assumptions that guide behavior and attitudes in the organization (McNamara, 2007). The culture also incorporates the values and norms of the organization that act as the
foundation of the organizations operations (McNamara, 2007). Some authors suggest that the corporate culture is basically the personality of the organization (McNamara, 2007). It is the framework that all members
share and as such, it guides actions and thoughts (SOI, 2005). The corporate culture is something that can be felt or sensed more readily than it can be discretely described
(McNamara, 2007). One of the experts in the concept of organizational culture, Edgar Schein, explained the culture as "a pattern of shared basic assumptions that the group learned" (SOI, 2005).
The assumptions emerge through experiences the group has in solving problems and dealing with different types of challenges pattern of shared basic assumptions that the group learned" (SOI, 2005). The
