paper, the writer has been asked to develop or change a specific rule of law, and to explain why that law is so important. The law that the writer wants
to change is that window tints should be allowed on car windows in New York State. There is a "legal" tint in the state, but its 75% (meaning 75% of
light is allowed in the car), which is practically nothing. Why is tinting not allowed - and why is it breaking the law
in various states? Tinted windows became popular during the late 20th century, especially in police cars and limousines (Lewy and Stockman, 2008). However, following the September 2001 terrorist attacks, law
enforcement officials in the United States had to see into motor vehicles as they drove by (Lewy and Stockman, 2008). There were fears of crimes being hidden in such cars,
and given that law enforcement was focused on visual surveillance, the tinted windows were considered a hindrance in preventing possible crimes or more attacks. This meant no more tinted windows
(Lewy and Stockman, 2008). There is also the argument that police, in general, dont like approaching cars with dark-tinted windows when those cars
