focused on Fortune 1000 companies. Whitney relies on professional talent so the company can do its job well -- and has spent
millions over the years to build an in-house educational and training facility. One such aspect is the Corporate Education and Development Center, located in St. Charles, Illinois. Each new Whitney
employee spends two weeks at this CEDC before receiving three additional months of training at one of nine other regional facilities in the U.S. Basically, Whitney spends about $3.500 per
employee for training and development each year. The majority of the investment is focused on technical and systems training for entry-level consultants -- and employees also receive training in terms
of what parts of the current programs are good and what arent. There has come, however, in the recent time, some questions
as to whether or not the training offered to the people is the right kind, or even if its needed. Depending on the answers, Whitney could save some money, while
enhancing value in its training. Most experts in this area (and even in the corporate arena) point out that training and development
of a workforce is vastly important (Sugrue, 2004). It boosts morale of a workforce (as it shows the force that the company is willing to invest time and resources into
