Estragon does not understand Vladimir’s desires, so he ignores or refutes everything Vladimir says when he speaks of Godot. He talks only of waiting for Godot, but not of finding it. and still others say Vladimir is waiting to get out of his wet boots and experience life. This is much closer to the story within Waiting for Godot by Samuel
Beckett. Vladimir is waiting to live, or at least to experience life to its fullest. This is evident in the fact that they
pair are always waiting for something to happen. This is expressed in the statement repeated throughout the play, "We are waiting for Godot" (Beckett 10). This is Vladimirs way of
saying he is on a search. This search is for what he and Estragon are missing in their lives. This is clear
as the play opens in the exchange between Vladimir and Estragon. Vladimir is trying to create a story about himself. He asks Estragon if he wants to hear the story
of two thieves, and asks, "Do you remember the story?" (Beckett 6). Estragon, says no, which is typical for him. As Vladimir continues to tell the story, Estragon continues to
say he is not interested in hearing it. He even makes fun of Vladimir for trying to make up the story that might change their lives.
Vladimir is unable to tell the story because he is continually interrupted by Estragon. He never finishes the story. In other words, he must continue to
wait for Godot, where Godot is that part of him that wants to live a different life. When Vladimir says the word
"saviour" (Beckett 6), it means that he is looking to be saved from the tedious nature of this life. He wants to live a much more interesting life, but because
