forming a team and delivering a finished product was an enlightening one. The greatest value of the assignment likely lay in putting the cautions of the George and Jones
text into practice. Nearly all of the assigned team members now understand precisely to what George and Jones refer when they speak of team "context, goals, size, member roles,
norms, cohesiveness, and leadership," for we have had direct, concrete experience with each aspect of these team qualities. One of the difficulties that
arose rather quickly never was resolved. The active team members never were able to make contact with one that had been assigned to our group. Having alternate means
of contact perhaps could have made a difference, but having only email and small groups page access to each other at the beginning limited our abilities to make more personal
contact than that which can be accomplished in real time online. Despite their shortcomings, these applications of technology were quite valuable to the team (George and Jones, 2002; p.
362). Getting Started Our team learned one overriding lesson this week. Cole and Cole (2000) ask, "Why, after all that has been
written about the importance of teamwork, are working relationships plagued with frustration and disappointment" (p. 56)? When people are working together - or even when theyre not - communication
is the one crucial factor that all involved need to practice. Our team never did get a full grasp on communication among all team members, but some individuals came
