of confrontation. Violent video games are just one more type of game played by children. And it is likely that most children who play violent video games do not turn
around and become violent. The following paper argues that violent video games are not a problem in society. Violence in Video Games
First and foremost it appears that, as one author notes, " It must be emphasized that correlational studies, including ours, cannot show whether video games cause particular behaviors. Far
too frequently, this important distinction between correlation and causation is overlooked" and this also involves a childs propensity for violence in the first place as it involves violent video games
(Grohol). This particular author indicates that in one study it was shown that some players of violent video games actually showed a decreased level of anger after playing (Grohol). This
demonstrates that those who demonstrate violent behavior after playing such games already have a propensity towards aggression and violence (Grohol). This is
further emphasized and supported through an article wherein the authors note that, "Although numerous studies have shown that playing violent video games can elicit aggressive behavior...very few studies have taken
into account the extent to which game players personality traits may moderate these effects. (Cicchirillo; Chory-Assad 435). The truth is that evidence suggests children with aggression and violence problems will
