remote controls to order movies, home shopping services and other programs whenever they choose. Three main programming providers supply the video on demand programs on the NYNEX. They
are Advanced Research and Technologies, Inc. (ARTI), Liberty Cable Television, and Urban Communication Transport Corp (Staff). The purpose of the trial was to test the
video on demand services. Combining NYNEXs switching, storage, and transmission facilities with the diverse offerings of cable TV and other program providers did this (Staff).
