Inc. and CBS Corporation. Viacom Inc. has a separate portfolio than that of CBS Corporation. CBS Corporation now consists of mass-media brands, which are led by two broadcast networks
in CBS and UPN; the CBS television stations group; CBS Radio; the CBS, Paramount and King World television production and syndication operations; the well-known premium cable brand Showtime; as well
as Viacom Outdoor, Paramount Parks and Simon & Schuster. It is hope that this division of assets will help all of the separate entities, primarily Paramount Pictures turn their
lack luster performance over the past three years around. OVERVIEW OF VIACOM Over the years, Viacom has become one of the worlds leading creators of programming and content that
transcends across all media platforms. Viacom includes such excellent brands as BET, Famous Music, MTV Network - MTV, VHI, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, Comedy Central, CMT: Country Music Television,
and Paramount Home Entertainment (Viacom, 2006). Changes are occurring at Viacom. In June 2005, the company announced their plans to re-organize into two separate, but focused
companies (Viacom, 2006). One of the businesses would be a publicly traded company - called Viacom Inc. - that would consist of the advertising supported cable networks
business, the Paramount Pictures business and Famous Music (Viacom, 2006). The remaining businesses would be all those previously existing as Viacom and would become known collectively as the CBS Corporation
