by the church. Functionalism is one of the major proposals that has ever been formulated as a solution to the "mind/body" problem (Functionalism). The mind/body problems refers to the
question that has haunted philosophers since antiquity as to how to differentiate between the body and the mind. Solutions to the mind/body
problem typically attempt to answer such questions as what is the ultimate nature of the mental(Functionalism). Functionalism proposes that the condition of being in a specific mental state should be
defined by the functional role of that state, rather than by proposed intrinsic features of that state. As this demonstrates, neither materialism nor functionalism promote a view of realty that
is compatible with most religious experience. Ultimate Reality Religion deals with the perception that there are higher realities to what can be perceived by these senses, or measured with
