It also considers the effects of social stratification, structure, socialization and similar concepts on a individuals development. Discussion A sociological glossary defines the life-cycle as a "developmental model which outlines the social changes encountered as a person passes through the "stages of childhood, adolescence, mid-life, old age and death. In the context of the family, the life-cycle is a process which includes courtship, marriage, child rearing, children leaving home, etc." (Life-cycle). Since Will Smith is 39, its obvious that we need to consider his childhood, courtship, marriage and child-rearing only; he is not yet facing the problems of aging or ill health. An extensive biography of Mr. Smith, including illuminating quotes from the man himself, appears on the Internet Movie Data Base, which is widely acknowledged to be a reputable source for entertainment industry information. It is not as accurate as it once was because it appears to be depending now on user submissions, but it still provides basic information.
