-- such was the case with Americas urbanization during the late nineteenth century. New technology taught society to appreciate and rethink old skills,
technologies and values. It was an exciting time of discovery and growth, and for the most part, Americans were excited about the countrys future. Inasmuch as technological diversification
allowed humanity to pursue goals and dreams once thought to be an impossibility, there appeared to be fewer and fewer limits placed upon what mankind can ultimately accomplish at the
turn of the century. These developments may have maintained their obvious advantageous aspects, yet there also existed a paradox of exponential growth, insofar as society had become unable to
handle the accelerated urbanization. "Humankind continues its own journey into the future with a new depth of understanding and appreciation for the forces that shape our destiny" (Anonymous 1.html).
Introducing such revolutionary concepts as were developed during the latter part of the nineteenth century truly transformed the way in which America embraced
