A 5 page paper discussing the giving and receiving tactics of the United Way. The foundation makes vital services possible, but for all the good the foundation does, it has achieved the position within many of the agencies it helps support of being their primary source of income, or at least being so important to the continued level of service provided that losing United Way income would present real hardship. Regrettably, the United Way's position of power through donated dollars has enabled their leadership to force the leaders of several groups to either accept the politically correct ideologies to which the United Way officially subscribes or forfeit any donation from United Way. with stairs while still ambulatory; he became fully bedridden as his condition worsened. Coras father was nearly 90, but he was a retired
engineer with a fully active mind. He kept himself busy studying and building projects, but he tended to forget to eat or bathe. Both Cora and Tim shared
the responsibilities of the two men, but it soon began to be too much for either of them to handle. A call to the local Hospice provided relief for
them: a Hospice volunteer came to the house each day to give them some time that they could be away from the house together; along with relief from their responsibilities
long enough so that they could know they had indeed had a break. Hospice is a national volunteer organization designed for the education
of both the dying and their families, and to provide some relief for the caregiver in the non-institutional setting. It receives much of its funding through the United Way.
The United Way is well known for its philanthropic generosities and support of a wide variety of organizations across the country. Consumer
Credit Counseling is one of the United Way agencies that provide a different sort of relief. Before the nations banks persuaded Congress to limit its abilities, CCC provided services
